My Bio (made by Jessica Kaitlyn Perkins)
David Angelo Ciancaglini is a popular Contrabassoonist in Washington, D.C., USA and the surrounding areas. He is currently entering his senior year at George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) where he is studying to be a Contrabassoon (bassoon) performance major and composition minor. Under the batons of Anthony J. Maiello and John E. Casagrande, Mr. Ciancaglini has performed in George Mason University's Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, Pit Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Chamber Winds and Chamber Orchestra playing contrabassoon and bassoon. He is also the contrabassoonist for the American University (Washington D.C.) under the direction of Shizuo Kuwahara, and he is a frequent guest contrabassoonist for the NOVA Manassas Community Orchestra (Manassas, VA). Mr. Ciancaglini is a member of AFM (American Federation of Musicians of the United States and Canada) local 161-710 (Washington, D.C.). He has studied bassoon and contrabassoon with Truman Harris of the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington D.C.), Sue Heineman, National Symphony Orchestra, Fraser Jackson of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (Canada) and with Douglas Kehlenbrink of George Mason University, and he is presently also a composition student under the supervision of Steve Antosca of GMU. Aside from his bassoon and contrabassoon duties at GMU and AU, Mr. Ciancaglini often freelances in the Washington D.C. area and he is a volunteer firefighter for the Hydrant Hose Company in is hometown of Geneva, NY

My Basic Studio Policy

Studio Policy

These are the guidelines to which I run my studio by. All students who wish to work with me must comply to the studio policy. If you chose to not accept this policy then I am not the teacher for you. I will be flexible with some aspect of this policy if there is a need to be

Expectations:
I expect that you will show to your lesson at least 5 minutes early, prepared and ready to work. You must bring all the materials required to meet the goals of the lesson.

You can expect that I will be fully prepared for your lesson, you will also get more than your money's worth with each lesson. You can expect that I will be fair and treat you as an individual with a life outside of bassoon. You need to expect the unexpected and I often give away free stuff

Lessons:
You are required to practice for at least 3 total hours in order to get the most out of each lesson. I will do my best to make each lesson interesting, fun and thorough. I will ask you to do the same. Feel free to cancel a lesson when you need to, just make sure I know in advance, so that I can plan accordingly. I am more than happy to schedule makeup lessons as well. We will set up a regular schedule of lessons that is flexible for the both of us. Lessons will often end late unless there is another scheduled lesson right after yours.

Payment:
You are expected to pay me in full for lessons. You my pay me at any time during a lesson. You may prepay for as many lessons as you would like, however, I will not refund you If you prepay for seven lessons and quit on the fifth lesson, you will not be refunded. I will refund prepaid lessons if you die, become physically impaired, or move away. I accept personal checks, bank checks, money orders, US currency and Canadian currency. I will also accept Canadian checks if you add six Canadian dollars to the check for bank fees.

This Studio Policy is always subject to change. You have the right to terminate lessons at any time for any reason, I have the right to terminate lessons at any time.

The following are prohibited during lessons:
Smoking, Consuming of alcohol, Using Illegal drugs.

You may use foul language, tell dirty jokes, feel free to speak your mind and express yourself, I hold no prejudices against anybody and I hold no grudges. You may come to lessons in pajamas if you want, I don't particularly care how you dress as long as you are dressed, please be courteous and cooperative. Above all conduct yourself in a friendly and professional manner
